Services Offered to Residents

In addition to providing professional police services to the Town of Bedford 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, there are other services which the Bedford Police Department offers to town residents. These services include:

Fingerprinting for employment purposes. (Please note that fingerprinting can only be done if the person wanting to be fingerprinted already has the fingerprint cards from their employer)

Letters of good conduct

Inspection and installation of child safety seats

Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) for elementary school children

Police Explorer program for teens interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement.

Dog licensing

Dark House checks. (Police will check your residence during periods when they are unattended to ensure they are safe and secure)

Defensive driver training (Please contact the Bedford Recreation & Parks office at 914-666-7004 for dates/times/locations/fee)

Medication disposal (The safest way to dispose of old medications in your home)
