The Bedford Police Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Police Officer. Candidates must be presently employed as a full-time police officer that has completed an approved DCJS Basic Course for Police Officers and who is eligible for resignation/reinstatement in accordance with New York State Civil Service rules. (Note: New York City police officers are not eligible for resignation/reinstatement). Candidates must reside in one of the following counties: Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Nassau, Suffolk, Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Orange, Dutchess or Ulster.
All candidates must complete a series of interviews, background investigation, physical examination, drug screening, and psychological screening. Resignation/reinstatements must be approved by the Westchester County Department of Human resources.

School Crossing Guard
School crossing guards are utilized in the morning and afternoon to ensure the safety of elementary school students in Bedford Hills and Katonah.
