Services Offered to Residents

In addition to providing professional police services to the Town of Bedford 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, there are other services which the Bedford Police Department offers to town residents. (See the forms/links/contacts section of this website to download necessary forms.)

SERVICES INCLUDE:

  • Autism Registry– a voluntary Autism Registry Program to assist with person specific information in the event of emergencies for individuals that have an Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Child Safety Seats – Inspection and installation (During scheduled safety seat events)
  • Dark House checks -Police will check your residence during periods when they are unattended to ensure they are safe and secure
  • Defensive driver training (Please contact the Bedford Recreation & Parks office at 914-666-7004 for dates/times/locations/fee)
  • Dog licensing
  • Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) for elementary school children
  • Facebook / Twitter / Nixle feeds that provide the most up-to-date information on road closures, traffic safety and special events.
  • Fingerprinting for employment purposes. (Please note that fingerprinting can only be done if the person wanting to be fingerprinted already has the fingerprint cards from their employer)
  • Letters of good conduct
  • Medication disposal (The safest way to dispose of old medications in your home)
